Overview:
Miller-Motte Technical College in Augusta, Georgia is looking for a Part-Time Librarian to join our campus team! The Part-Time Librarian is responsible for providing library, reference and support services to students and faculty. The Part-Time Librarian manages operations for the library, including selecting and recommending materials for acquisition. The Part-Time Librarian provides access to library holdings and provides reference service to Faculty, Staff and Students. The Part-Time Librarian acts as an instructional partner working with instructors and students to promote effective use of the library.
Qualifications:
Experience Required:

Minimum:
? Bachelor's Degree in Library Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
? 2 years of experience as a Librarian

Preferred:
?Master's Degree in Library Science or related field
? 3 or more years of experience in library management
? Experience as a librarian in an academic setting
? Working knowledge of federal/state government education regulations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of reference instruction, data base research, & testing statistics analyses and research
Thorough knowledge of library functions
Understands principles, practices, and techniques of administration, supervision, interviewing and training.
Ability to develop a budget, including financial forecasting and preparation of necessary documents.
Knowledge of and ability to use online databases, the internet and traditional print resources
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative environment
Excellent presentation skills and ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups in a formal setting
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
I. Oversees Library Operations
Oversees daily operations of the library, ensuring compliance with organizational directives, state and federal laws, policy, and regulations
Controls circulation of library materials and equipment to students and faculty ensuring adequate access.
Assists with the operation of the library''s automated circulation system and circulation desk operations.
Catalogs and processes library materials.
Conducts library statistical reporting.
Provides reference services for the faculty and students.
Trains and supervises student and temporary workers in circulation desk operations
II. Promotes Library Services
Provides library orientation and instruction in library skills for the faculty and students as needed.
Promotes positive public relations such that students have access to an array of local media service sources.
Provides information on additional community resources to broaden the student''s information base.
Collaborates with instructors to integrate library usage with class work.
Provides face-to-face, e-mail, and on-line reference service for students, faculty and staff.
Provides bibliographic instruction.
Assists with public relations, prepares posters, exhibits and handouts.
III. Manages and Maintains Library Collection
Manages inter-library loan activity.
Maintains a card catalog and other library aids.
Collaborates with the Advisory Committee and the Faculty to guide collection development.
Makes recommendations for collection development.
Reviews, evaluates, and selects material for library collection development; serves as a liaison to faculty on books to have available
Screens media service holdings to determine currency of the appropriate material and sort dated material.
Ensures that magazine, journal, and other periodical subscriptions are appropriate to the programs of study and are renewed in a timely manner
Maintains reference section that is current and meets the needs of all academic programs
IV. Follows Compliance Policy and Procedure
Complies with all State, Department of Education and accreditation regulations
Adheres to all company policies and procedures
