As an A&P Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, and major inspections on turbofan and turboprop powered aircraft.
Trouble-shooting, repair, and modification of aircraft components and engines is accomplished by this position.
What You'll Do:
Removes and reinstalls engines from turbofan and turboprop powered aircraft.
Performs operation checks and engine runs to ensure air-worthiness prior to departure.
Inspects aircraft in accordance with OEM Light or Heavy Maintenance manuals.
Evaluates removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies (squawks).
Troubleshoot and repair all airframe systems as required (hydraulics, landing gear, etc).
Removes, balances and reinstalls flight controls.
Inspects for hidden damage and corrosion.
Performs mechanical checks of flight controls and a/c systems.
Removes and reinstalls component(s) as required to perform sheet metal repairs or interior modifications.
May perform fuel tank sealing on aircraft.
Documents all work accomplished (a.
k.
a.
sign-off) in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
Accomplishes Service Bulletins, Repair Letters, and Airworthiness Directives as required.
Reads and interprets maintenance manual procedures, blueprints, technical manuals, and schematic diagrams when required.
Analyzes a variety of mechanical problems and determines the cause and best method of repair.
Tests operation and repairs/adjusts, as required:
engines, engine controls and accessories, propellers and controls, landing gear, hydraulic systems and servicing, and flight controls, and adjusts rigging as required.
Checks and repairs fuel, oil, oxygen, heating, cooling and pressurization systems.
Travels on road trips as required, and is able to lead other employees and handle any technical problem that may occur.
May serve as a delegated inspector if authorized by Quality Department.
Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting and continuously improving company policies and procedures.
Uses hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges and calibration test equipment.
Provides guidance and assistance to other A&P Mechanics in regard to proper mechanical procedures and techniques.
Observes all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must have a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate (OR 4 years or more aircraft or helicopter maintenance experience in the military for local candidates only).
Minimum of 1 year of Challenger experience.
Prior corporate jet experience preferredEligibility Requirements:
Demonstrated technical ability on specific airframes and engines in the areas of inspections, maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, and repairs.
Demonstrated ability to locate and apply FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, Orders, Notices etc.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and plan work activities in an organized manner.
Must have good interpersonal and verbal skills in order to communicate with customers and employees.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
Must be able to think clearly, and speak intelligibly on the telephone and in person.
Must be able to manipulate equipment of all sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.
Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
