One of our clients, a global, publicly traded, diversified manufacturer of engineered industrial products, is searching for a cost accountant to join their manufacturing facility in the Midlands, SC area. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of our client's Standard Cost System as well as the accuracy of their perpetual inventory. The individual will work closely with engineering and operations to ensure effective execution of the following responsibilities:
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of our STD Cost system to include development of annual standards as well as the ongoing maintenance required due to changes driven by engineering and/or operations.
Ensure the accuracy of our perpetual inventory system. Complete monthly reconciliations and provide analysis.
Assist/support process improvement initiatives: accounting and reporting metrics, engineering changes, new product releases, inventory controls, BOMs and routings, budgeting and forecasting, cycle count program and metrics.
Support our cycle count program.
Participate in the maintenance of the internal financial control environment ensuring accurate financial statements and safeguard company assets.
Ensure location is accountable for consistent practices and procedures and comply with corporate policies.
Analyze cost variances, inventory movements, and other accounting reports as they relate to cost.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
4 year degree with major in Accounting or Finance
Strong cost accounting skills developed in manufacturing environments
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
