Position
Summary:
The Prime-Time Site Director is responsible for supervising the daily operation of the Prime-Time program at assigned site. Accountable for implementing activities, ensuring safety of all children in the program, interacting with children and their families, working independently as well as with a team, and creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment. The candidate must have a positive attitude and serve as a role model to participants in the program.
Job Segments:
Supervises daily scheduling of Prime-Time Staff, to include placement of substitutes for scheduled time off, absences and keeping of time sheets.
Ensures staff /child ratio is within limits at ALL times, keeping a consistent head count and communicating changes with other staff
Leads and is responsible for small group of children (15 or less).
Immediately advises Area Coordinator of any child /parent/staff issues and documents that are required.
Maintains open communication with children families, and school administration and refers all questions about the overall site (rules and regulation) to the Area Coordinator.
Holds children accountable to guidelines of Prime Time and school.
Ensures that agreements between the Family Y Prime Time Program, Board of Education, and school principal are followed, i.e., use of school equipment.
Attends Prime Time/ Child Care Staff meetings training, and any mandatory meetings for staff.
Successfully complete curriculum training
Actively participates in supporting the annual Strong Kids Scholarship Campaign and United Way
Preforms other duties as assigned by the Area Coordinator, or Vice President Youth Development
Performance Requirements:
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Exercise mature judgment and sound decision making
Ability to lead or participate in 30
minutes of aerobic/fitness activities
Consistently demonstrate positive communication: teach and redirect rather than scolding or reprimanding children
Reliable transportation
Education/
Experience:
Must be 18-years-old or older
Minimum of High School Education or General Equivalent Diploma required
Minimum of CDA, TCC, or higher level of education
Possess 1 to 3 years supervisory experience in an educational setting
Working knowledge of Bright From The Start rules and regulations required
Be able to practice professionalism, displaying confidentiality while learning, following, and enforcing, local YMCA and national guidelines related to internal policy
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Experience in working with school aged children or youth programs
Status: Part-time
Location: Family YMCA of Greater Augusta - Various Locations
Hourly Rate: $9.25 - $11.00 an hour
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
