Child Development Center Pre-K Teacher

General Statement of Duties: Implement curriculum; interact and nurture children in your care, supervising their activities to ensure a safe environment. Follow the instructions of Director/Assistant Director.
Supervision Exercised: None
Typical Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity; eye-hand coordination necessary to perform record management; ability to lift 50 pounds on a routine basis; and ability to escort children into or out of the building during an emergency situation. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range and ability to verbally communicate.
Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in a child care setting with indoor and outdoor activities.

Job Segments:
Ensure that staff : child ratio is within limits at all times and reduces staff in classroom as children numbers decrease each day
Implement daily Pre-K approved curriculum and student activities
Implement and supervise special activities as scheduled
Maintain assessment and portfolio on each child (keep in the classroom)
Participate in parent orientations
Provide parent conferences throughout the year as required by Pre-K guidelines and document
Create and maintain lesson plans according to Pre-K guidelines
Maintain open communications with Resource Coordinator and Pre-K Project Director
Advises Resource Coordinator and/or center management team of all child-parent-staff problems immediately and document as required
Maintain open communication with children, families, center administration, and Metro Child Care office
Assists with center housekeeping/maintenance (i.e., bathroom, kitchen, cafeteria, activity area, playground, cabinet, etc.) and ensures cleanliness each day of classroom, bathrooms, and playground areas used.
Attend center and association staff meetings as directed by center management
Attend training as directed by center management
Certified and current at all times in CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety
Successfully complete required Pre-K training annually
Successfully complete 12
hours DHR training annually
Actively participate in Annual Campaign and United Way Campaign
Performs other duties as assigned by Center Director / Metro Child Care Director
Performance Requirements: Clean Criminal Background Check (CRC); obtain required Pre-K training annually; obtain 12
hours DHR approved child care training annually; certified in CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety; high energy and self motivation; ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently; proficient in supervision of classroom staff and children; proficient at organizing classroom activities and following directions; effective time management skills and problem solving; be a team player; and excellent communication skills
Education/
Experience: Must be 21-years-old or older; meet credential/certification requirements as set forth by Georgia Pre-K Guidelines; and 1-3 years teaching experience in child care or public school.
Personal Qualities: Ability to communicate effectively; strong organizational skills; willingness to learn and grow; self-starter, focused; has leadership qualities; and willing to accept change as an opportunity for growth.

Status: Full Time for 190-Day Pre-K School Year

Annual Salary: $21,295
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
